Care Insurance Editorial Review: One Of The Most Pathetic Service

Health insurance, especially for us Indians, is a luxury which not everyone have. So if you pay a higher premium for higher coverage and hassle free claims, you expect it to be the same when the need arises. This is an editor’s review of Care Insurance, and the pathetic experience the editor and his family had to go through. If we, the review company, can have this kind of experience which we have the resources to expose and share with the world, it’s hard to imagine what a normal person would go through with Care Health Insurance.

Purchase & Renewal

Purchase experience was easy, tests were done for parents and the editor full family was insured. Total 8 years, on time renewals with premium almost tripled. No claims whatsoever.

Admission & Initial Process

After 8 years, mother was admitted to a big private hospital. They sent a request for pre authorization as is the norm. Mother was admitted for over 26 days and approximately 7 more auth requests were sent, all approved.

Claim Experience

Now comes the time of discharge. After submitting the documents for claim, they took over 24 hours and approved a wrong claim amount!!! Upon contacting they requested another 24 hours to fix this joke extending mother’s torturous stay for one more day. Next night, they again approved a wrong amount claiming deduction for senior citizens even though they confirmed they made a mistake and mother was eligible for 100% claim amount. So another day extension and pathetic as they are, they again made a mistake writing the approved amount! To fix this, they asked for another 24 hours. After 3 nights, we were fed up so we paid on our own and discharged the mother.

Final Resolution

After a month, they finally released the full amount to the hospital which we had to claim from them which again was a hassle. So this was an experience that we will never imagine even for our enemies.

Verdict

Run away from them. Do not, we emphasize, DO NOT PURCHASE CARE HEALTH INSURANCE. You are better off without any insurance than being insured with them, it’s that bad.
